Thanks. But there is also a Audubon 8,5 x 44 HR/5 FMC ED. |:D|

Scorpius,

sounds like you are a binocular addict, like me !!

I have dismantled my Audubon, removed the center spindle but I can't get the center focus knob out, I noticed in your photo you removed it, how does it come out, it may just be stuck but I don,t want to force it?

Thanks.
Ben

Removing the center focus knob is very easy but don't force anything.

Look at the pictures. First you unscrew the small screw (pic 1) inside the ribbed focusing wheel. Just a little, it doesn't need to be removed. Then you put a small pen or screwdriver in the hole (pic 2) of the inside cylinder. Keep the inside cylinder in place when you turn the ribbed wheel. In a sort of way you screw the inside cylinder in the ribbed wheel. When it is far enough inside you can remove the center focus knob.

Good stuff. Might be a good tip to copy into the repair notes thread....
"Binocular Repairs and Cleaning"

There are similar focusers out there (though rare).

And any other tips you don't see in that thread, Scorpius!
