This was less a day out than a one bird report.
late fall migration is happening in New York city. Mostly sparrows at this point but still warblers and others going south. I work in a 3rd floor office in downtown manhattan, some distance from any major park. Yesterday, a colleague called me to show a me a bird that was on the external window sill, hopping up around and flitting up against the glass. I managed a quick look before it flew off.- A winter wren! made my day.
