ZEISS DTI thermal imaging cameras. For more discoveries at night, and during the day.

Cranes (5 Viewers)

We now have 5 birds in Caithness. A pair was found yesterday in the same area the 3 were last seen. So it was aksed had one bird gone AWOL or was it the a new pair. The answer was discovered when 5 were found today.

I wonder if the two new ones were the ones from Orkney?

That is very possible and was the thought last night when only 2 were seen.
Its great they are hanging around.

Managed to see the 11 of them today at lunch time at the same place as Henry saw them :) glad they stayed till i got back onshore .

Just back from viewing them. At 10:30 they were in the field between Pitgaveny Ho and Wester Calcots.

I also tracked them 3 times on Friday morning. At 08:30 they were in the field north of Balliesland Farm. By the time I returned at 11:15 they were in the field at Wester Calcots. After about 15 minutes they flew North East and I picked them up again at Balliesland Farm some 10 minutes later after I had driven round. They seem to be favouring these two locations, lets hope it stays that way.
