Crested or Thekla Lark? (Estapona, Southern Spain) (1 Viewer)

Hi All

During a bit of winter sun, I took the camera out for a spin and found a load of birds nearby.

I found this lark running about. I have got other pictures but this photo seems to show the strong markings and short-ish bill of a Thekla?

Could someone please take a look and see what they think?

I'm always mistaken with these but here, I bet on the crested with this beak non-convexe and this pointed crest...
I'm probably mistaken one again ^^

Difficult bird but looks more like a Crested Lark to me. I think the angle makes the bill look more convex than it actually is. The face pattern and crest look better for Crested.

Can you send the other pics, any views of the uppertail or underwing?

Still has the feel of Crested to me, but it's a while since I've seen either.
