Cyprus in autumn (1 Viewer)

Thinking of going to Cyprus in September or October. Can anyone advise which month is likely to be better? Mainly thinking about migrant birds, but things like dragonflies and butterflies will be of interest too.

September is good for returning birds of prey and bits and pieces of avian interest, but it willl be hot!

Hi Clive.

I did 1st week of November in 2019. Just used local buses around Paphos area, and connected with some good Winter visitors for my Cyprus list Greater Sand Plover at the Paphos headland being the highlight. Plan to return if coronavirus allows.

Peruse the Birdlife Cyprus web site, and join the Birdlife Cyprus Google Group. Invaluable source of up to date info. May still be warm. 25 degrees C when we were there and no rain. Very nice.

Went many years ago in mid september. The birding was very good but the weather was almost too hot, +28C
Didn't enjoy the almost constant shooting at Akrotiri though. May be different now.
