If you've got any birds of prey around they could easily snatch the birds out of the nest.

It’s unlikely a bird of prey could take a chick from a blue tit nest box.

They are in nestbox high on house wall went one at a ttime with no mess

Depending where you are, sounds like the MO of a Woodpecker, I've seen them do it and they come back and take the chicks, one at a time.

When I lived in Russia, we had two nest boxes, one with Great Tits in and one with Pied Flycatchers, the latter had a slightly smaller entrance and the Woodpeckers couldn't grab the chicks but they did get our Tits.

One way to avoid this, make your nest box deep so that any Woodpeckers can't reach the chicks, even if they can get their heads in.
