Deceased chicks in Eastern Bluebird nest box (2 Viewers)

Hello - had a tragedy here with my first brood of the season. All of the hatchings have passed. There were 4 hatchlings originally but I only see 3 now. I have not seen the parents in a few days. I normally have at least 3 rounds of babies every year but this is my first full casualty. Should I try to remove the chicks or will parents eventually take care of it when they want to use the box again. The chicks were only a few days old.

Welcome to Birdforum.

In the UK it’s illegal to interfere with a nest, and I think it may be the same in the USA. It would be best to leave the chicks.
