Difference between DCF and EX (1 Viewer)

I assume the difference is the same as the EX designation in the Action series. The EX meaning (meaning Extreme) the binocular is waterproof and has extra armor, accounting for the weight.

Ok thanks. I suspect that the ex might be phase coated too.

The EX model appears to be what is sold in US as Trailblazer. I don't believe they are phase coated but they are considered to be an all terrain binocular (Nikon's term), waterproof and multicoated.

The Sprtstart DCF is multicoated too. The DCF has fold down rubber eyecups while the EX has the twistup style.

Ah, I knew it was something that justified the ex weighing three times as much and cost more. Fold downs aint that good from what i´ve heard.

These aren't very expensive binoculars, right? I'd be surprised if Nikon had replacement eye cups for them. It would be surprising if you kept them long enough to need replacements.

If the binocular breaks down they probably replace it with a new version. I have a friend who used a similar Bushnell for about 10 years. He banged them into something and a prism broke loose. He sent them in for repairs and Bushnell sent him the new version for free instead of repairing them.

Hi,
no they cost around 90 euro. Ok so the fold-downs will work for a few years atleast?
