I saw this bird in Marblehead, MA where an Eared Grebe has been continuing each winter the past few years. There were multiple Horned Grebes at the location as well including one that seemed to hang out really closely with the individual I suspect was the Eared Grebe, this gave me great comparison looks. Compared to the Horned Grebes nearby this bird looked much darker overall, with an almost hunched over appearance, and looked ever so slightly smaller when they swam side by side. In my photo the identifying features that support Eared are the dark cheeks, dark neck, and needle-like slightly recurved bill. Ay help would be appreciated.

Thanks, the only thing that has me stumped is its flat head, and since it is March, the possibility that it might be molting, so that could be why its plumage looks blurred. Based on the bill mostly, and your reply, I'm feeling pretty confident with Eared Grebe.
