A fantastic day at Elmley Nature Reserve yesterday! Eight Short-eared Owls, flying about some right in front of us, Bearded Tits showing beautifully, a Merlin giving good if sadly distant views, reminding me of the importance of having a scope, i wouldn't have been confident of the ID through the Bins!! Peregrine, Marsh Harrier, numerous Waders and Wildfowl and just the wide open spaces adding to the enjoyment !! More details and loads more pics on the blog at the link!

Everytime I'm not there you're there Paul! Glad the beardies and SEO's did the decent thing, they are the main prospect for many people at the moment.

Evening. I was at the reserve this morning helping with some surveying. The place looked fantastic in the winter sunlight. I couldn’t believe how busy the place was.
Was busy yesterday as well, though you don't have to walk far to find space, the coastal path was pretty deserted once you went past the bit with the Beardies!
