One question from me: is there any european/WP species with natural coloured (not whitish, greyish or faint brownish) colouration? Thanks!

You mean at the base of the shaft? Good question. There are some that get pretty dark right close to the root, but as for bright colors, I can't think of anything in North America either, besides flickers (Colaptes).

Here's a South American toucan with yellow roots on some of its feathers:
