This bird was observed in Cow Creek housing area at 19:30 p.m. PDT on 19 May 2015. The reporting party watched it for several minutes before realizing that he did not know which species it was and a photo would be a good idea. The lighting was poor due to the setting sun.

He also herd a bird singing. The closest song he could find was the Dusky-capped Flycatcher. A very unusual species we have 9 observations between 1951 and 1976 in the Furnace Creek area.

It doesn't look like Myiarchus which is the group Dusky-capped is placed in.

To me this looks more like a willow flycatcher.

Given the pretty weak wingbars, perhaps a Western Wood-Pewee? They also have a similar song to Dusky-capped Flycatcher (at least, more similar than Willow Flycatcher).

I was thinking the projection was too short for pewee, which should be twice the length of willow flycatcher.
