I just registered and ended up got a different username than the one I entered!? I live in Sunnyvale and do some bird watching in the Pillar Point Area, HMB among other areas. I was there yesterday and saw a hawk in the junipers where the Great Blue Herons and Black Crowned Herons usually roost. By the way, are the Black Crowned Herons roosting somewhere else now? I haven't seen them in a long time. Anyway I am familiar with the Red Tail Hawks in the area but this one looked different. It had a pure white breast and a wide black streak going from the eyes to the back of its head and the top of its head is white. I don't see anything like this in my bird book. Unfortunately it didn't fly while I was there with my non bird watching friend( I couldn't linger to see it fly) and it's tail was behind the foliage. FYI - There is one pair of Common Goldeneye ducks hanging out with the Buffleheads
Also saw the Western Bluebirds in the meadow.
