Hi All
A bit quiet on this forum at the moment so thought I would post this one from earlier in the year to see if anyone can suggest a possible ID or at least narrow down the field. I am taking it to be a mature Lepiota Sp. At first glance to me it had the appearance of a small shaggy parasol with a very slender stem and minus its ring.
Habitat - growing in moss on edge of conifer plantation (spruce) adjacent to Beech wood.
Solitary specimen.
Cap - dia.6cm
Stem - ht.6cm dia.5mm, reddening where damaged, hollow.
Gills - offwhite, fairly brittle, free?, dark staining where damaged.
Sorry,no other information available.
Gerry
