Gitzo GHF2W Fluid 2-Way Head long plate (1 Viewer)

Hi all. I'm after a quick release long plate for my Gitzo head, has anyone found a more budget friendly alternative to the official "Gitzo quick release plate, long D profile with rubber grip GS5370LDR"

Thanks in advance

Yup. Any arca-swiss-compatible plate of the length you desire.
(Oh, and if you find that little retention screw in the head to be in the way ... an Allen key will solve that in a jiffy.)

If you are in the UK I have a long Gitzo plate that I have been trying to get rid of. It came with a Gitzo gimbal head but I don’t need it. I think it may be the same model as the one above but not sure (it looks the same). PM me if interested.

Apologies, obviously I forgot I asked this last year!

I was hoping someone had a specific alternative I could order. I did order a long plate last year but even though it's an Arca-Swiss it doesn't lock securely to the head

My favorite series of Arca-type long plates for scopes are those made by Desmond. They are inexpensive and very well made, with no rubber to get old and fall off. They have a metal lip at one end to snug against the scope foot as an anti-twist measure.

Here's a link to the longest size 169 mm, but note the availability (on the same web page) of shorter lengths.
