what a day ,went to the opening of the new rspb site at burton mere wetlands (south wirral ) this morning ,a enjoyable site with lots and lots of potential ,left around 2p.m and popped along to parkgate to get some dinner .sat down by the donkey stand munching away and looking at the gulls ,when all of a sudden peeps are flocking from everywhere with scopes ,turned out to be a great white egret quite a way out on the marsh .i hang around for another three hours or so and as well as the great white ,gots pics of a ring tailed hen harrier ,a peregrine ,kestrel ,merlin and one of the hen harrier chasing off a curlew a most enjoyable afternoon all round
