1cy gulls

Phonescoped pics of 1cy gulls: GBBG, graellsii LBBG, and graellsii?

I thought the last one was an argenteus HG when I was photographing it but have gone for LBBG - is that correct?

Geoff

All taken 20-21 Sept, Edinburgh

hi geoff,

i'm far from confident with these northern breeders (from a central european viewpoint).
1st looks ok for GBBG (i suppose it had a bulky bill?)
2nd looks more like herring gull to me but i'd have liked to see inner primary pattern.
almost all juv scapulars and weak bill, but: greater coverts and tertials with a lot of white would be odd for LBBG - but i'm not quite sure, ask jan, maybe he's more firm in the IDs of these.
3rd could well be a LBBG (GC and TT pattern ok) but scapulars mostly 2nd generation are strange for graellsii in mid september?

all the best,

Is this a Larus marinus or a Larus argentatus or ... something else?
Photo taken last July in Stockholm.
I posted here many Gulls. Are they all correct?

No, Lou. Only michahellis. I have pics with about 20 individuals, but, in my opinion, they all look good for michahellis. I will upload more pics in the next days...

But I saw thousands of melanocephalus, one or two genei, tens of minutus.
