Lou, I hope you had a light hangover and you're "full operational" again.
I'm trying to age this michahellis (pic taken on November 27th - more pics available, if needed). In my humble opinion, the options are 2cy or 3cy...

it seems that you misinterpreted my linguistic larid quiz from last night. :gh:
for your micha there's only one option and that is 3rd cycle, 3cy in this case. no such large p10 mirrors, no adult like inner primaries with broad white edges in a 2nd cycle bird. 3rd and 4rth cycles are often more difficult to separate but this one has many immature plumage traits, so a 3cy.
more pics always welcomed, especially of the bunch of caspians that you promised - take your time to process them...:t:

Here are some pics (2 and 3 - same bird; 4 and 5 - same bird). Is it the first one a 3cy Caspian?

yes, looks like a 3cy caspian - quite retarded in many respects, especially mirror developement, pale ventral tongues, black down to p3 and brown secondaries.

then a nice 2cy pontic (is that the same in 2 and 3, guess so, looks like it has a mirror only on left wing)

and a 3cy - cach with no mirrors???? mich??? probably mich with such a wing. caspian like appearance of rounded head, dark smusged bill and dark eye but a 3rd cycle with just a tiny ghosty mirror can be only a michahellis! also, ventral p10 tongue is curved not rectangular.

1 and 5 seem to be the same ad cach with bloody pale irises.#
2 both birds should be michahellis. 1st is similar to #1588.4-5: with such a small mirror = 3cy mich, second with narrow tail band, clean darker grey mantle and scaps, yellowish bill base = a 2cy
3 another ad cach, also pale eyed.
