Has anyone had success keeping mammals out of their bird feeders?

We are currently banned from bird feeding due to mice and rats.

I feed cardinals that will be starting their families very soon and I’m desperate for a solution so I can keep feeding these sweet couples.

Please help if you can! Thank you.

Here's the gas cylinder cage I bought for the same issue, but with magpies and feral pigeons rather than squirrels. Gaps are 5cm square, so no problems for tits, finches etc

I also bring the feeders inside each night, so any rats or mice that are around don't get a free overnight feast. I no longer have the trays at the bottom, just hose down the stones every couple of days or so which disperses any spillage.
