I know this is a silly question but I've found a green finch that has got a broken leg... It's broken low down and it's foot is held on by a thin thread of skin. What should I do. It can't perch. But it can feed and drink. Problem is I live in an area where there are loads of cats and I know it will be got by one of them. I happen to keep British birds and canaries and have a small cage.
What should I do as I would love for this bird to have a chance to survive help?

Hi JP and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. Most vets will give emergency treatment to wildlife without charge if you know one in your area. Once professionally treated he should be able to survive OK, as birds seem to cope very well with one damaged leg.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
