Holidaying in Scotland near Loch Tummel last week of March is their any special place’s to visit for birds, also can anyone tell us the best place to see PineMartin in the area thanks.

Hi and welcome to BirdForum from all the staff and moderators.

Rothiemurchus did have a hide up in Speyside a while back but I think it may have been vandalised. May be back up and running. Failing that, if you’re backing on to forestry put some jame sandwiches out.

Good luck.

Hi jjmb and a warm welcome from me too. First off, try and get hold of @gordon hamlett 's book "Best Birdwatching Sites: Scottish Highlands". He's a member here too. There's a very good section covering that area : Best Birdwatching Sites in the Scottish Highlands

Find any walk in the woodlands around the area, the Queens View should also give you some birds. I love the drive on the south side of the loch, stopping a every opportunity for a scan or listen.

Sorry, I can't help with Pine Marten though. Maybe ask the locals when you are in the area, they may have some information. Do try and fit in a run right out to Rannoch Station.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
