Let me introduce myself: I´m a Dutch man from Amsterdam enjoying birds, plants and all wildlife since my early youth. I don't consider myself a very good birdwatcher, there´s people more dedicated and more trained than me.
However it´s all about the joy of being in nature and occasionally seeing something amazing.
Most amazing birds watched so far:
A bittern that almost flew into my face when riding a bicycle.
A gyrfalcon pursued by a squadron of redshanks and godwits from very up close in the east of Iceland.
A robin sitting on the chair in the garden just 2 feet away from me. Yesterday.

Hi Scharrelaar and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. You certainly have had some memorable encounters with birds.... they'll long live with you I think.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
