Hello All!
My nick shows that I’m a fan of Louis Armstrong (aka Satchmo). Listening to Swing, my motorcycle, and what the Japanese call “Forest Bathing” are my hobbies. That last one I would describe as meandering in the woods. I’ve hiked and camped… don’t like it so much. There’s so much that is missed putting in the miles.
I like to meander, stopping so often it would embarrass the word “exercise”. Listening to and for the natural sounds around me invigorates me, but I’ve never been able to learn birdsongs or to identify the birds. I’ve tried many times. I just may not be built that way. I am long over that frustration.
I have decided, though, to buy a pair of binoculars. I still haven’t made the leap, though, because I find myself easily lost in “analysis paralysis”. Whether or not I can tell the difference between a hawk and a sparrow is of little concern to me at the moment, though I am sure osmosis will help in this forum. I just want to see the bird I hear and appreciate him more.
