Baby birds are hard. What kind of nest/habitat did it come from, and what locale in the USA?

It's possible this wee one is an American Goldfinch with all that yellow on the wing, but I'm no expert at this sort of identification, so will move your post to the ID forum, as they're better placed to be able to help you. They would find it helpful if you could say where in the States you are and what the habitat is like around you.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
