Holster type case for 7D + 400/5.6 (1 Viewer)

How about the Flipside 400, swing it round to your front on the waiststrap and extract the camera/lens from the back of the pack

Know that combo fits in the 400 because I had that very set up until I sold the 400mm last weekend.

Hi, For what its worth I have the TT50 Holster & both the 400mm f5.6 & the 100-400mm IS which I use with a 1D mkII both lenses are fitted with lenscoats & both lens & 1D combinations fit. The 1D + 400mm fits easily but the 1D + 100-400 is a bit tight. I think mainly because of the Lenscoat on the hood. but again it does fit & is quite usable.

Hope this helps

Cheers...

Is that the Mk1 or Mk2 version? The rain cover is stored inside the case on the Mk1 and that takes up quite a bit of room. I wondered if it is any easier with the Mk2.

I suppose you have tried removing the rain hood from its pocket to see if it is easier to get the lens in and out? I keep the hood in a small pouch attached to the outside of the bag and it makes all the difference. I imagine you have probably tried this already, though.

Due to the bulk of the 1D body I removed the rain cover long ago. As for the 100-400 the problem is not the rain cover but the width of the hood + lenscoat making it a tight fit in the bottom of the holster.

I was thinking of using the shoulder strap to hopefully rest it around my back Keith.

Has anyone here actually used the TT 50 with either a 100-400 or 400/5.6?
The reason I ask is that on another forum a lot of folks were complaining that the 100-400 was a very tight fit (diameter wise) and not easy to put back in.

Hi Roy
I use the TT50 for a Canon 50D and 400 f5.6 lense. Not used it cycling but I find it sits across the back quite well when walking to keep out of the way when carrying other gear such as tripod and scope. I met you once down near Isley Marsh last year I think. If we were to bump into each other you could try the setup maybe.
