I have been caring for a baby Carolina wren for about 11 days, I’m guessing he was about 3 or 4 days old when I found him! (1 Viewer)

I have been caring for a baby Carolina wren for about 11 days, I’m guessing he was about 3 or 4 days old when I found him, roughly 15 days old now! He is eating mule worms and Beatles when I can find them! Also wet cat food when I can’t find the bugs! Can he have regular bird seeds or sunflower seeds? At what point do I let him go? He has started to hop around, but not yet flying!

Welcome to Birdforum.

Here is some information about Carolina Wrens. They eat insects so seeds won’t be good.

Here are some guidelines about caring for wild young birds

I hope those help.

Hi. How amazing what you’ve done! I always suggest a bird sanctuary where they are Professionals and can give him or her follow up care and perhaps you could adopt him after he’s rehabilitated there seem to be plenty of bird sanctuaries available. Blessings. 🩷
