ICZN in danger? (1 Viewer)

Perhaps that partly explains why the quarterly Bulletin hasn't been maintained on the ICZN website in recent months. The contents of BZN 69(3) [Sep 2013] were posted in an ad hoc temporary file in late-2012, but that disappeared when the revised website was launched a couple of weeks ago, and now the latest available online is BZN 69(2) [Jun 2012].

However, although it's obviously important that The Code is maintained and followed, the number of Aves-related Cases referred to ICZN in recent years has typically been very small...

I'm surprised this hasn't created more publicity. The loss of a global institution for nomenclature has far reaching consequences outside of the dusty halls of academe. http://m.sciencemag.org/content/339/6122/897 Chris

One would hope that something is going on behind the scenes to rescue this treasure, but if not, I suggest IOC might take the lead (because they are strongly web-based and have a huge electronic footprint/following across the biological world) and seek support from other, non-ornithological groups and institutions. Surely the BMNH would want to be on-board, as would a host of other similar institutions?
