No point in me getting the Dutch version, I wouldn’t have a clue! But I shall shortly have two different versions, hard copy and soft copy. If you wanted a copy for the car and one for home that could be an excuse, although Dutch and English is more than distinct enough in my eyes to warrant a purchase 😉👍
Are you sure there's a soft copy? None of us at the team have heard anything about that? My contract did state that I would get a soft copy but Princeton told me at the Bird Fair that they weren't doing one? Had dinner with the rest of the team on saturday and they hadn't heard of one either.
Cheers
James

Hope so, I ordered off Princeton direct……

And the app now shows the following for me, guess I’ll find out very shortly….

Could you later download this pdf? Or, I would have to install this app on a laptop and a mobile and open it every time? Does it work offline?

A comment on Twitter/X today mentions a dissatisfaction with some colours eg Sabine's Gull, Red Kite and alba wagtails (pale blue rather than grey) and also a badly trimmed page 192.
I have ordered it from Birdguides/Birdwatch but no news on when/how it will be delivered.
There have been increasing issues such as this and my guess is that it's related to the cheaper printing in China. Most publications are printed in China now I believe.

Further to what I saw on Twitter/X, it seems that all the copies that one supplier has are affected by the same colour deficiencies and page trimming problems, resulting in them offering a refund, and another supplier (Warners = Birdguides/Birdwatch who I have ordered from) also have defective stock and have agreed to replace at least one customer's purchase with books straight from the publisher - assuming they are better.

And on Facebook I see that someone has returned their two poor quality volumes to NHBS for replacement - they say that NHBS is waiting for a reprint.
Can't say I'm looking forward to mine arriving as I expect they will be just as bad as the ones I have read about. I have emailed Warners asking them to make sure they send me good copies but.............

The official ebook is downloaded to your device, and accessed through the dedicated app only.

It seems unable to load on my phone however due to screen size dictated by the app, so I will be asking them if they could look into that as I have other pdf books that work fine. I will also ask if they can implement another tweak I think would be useful for readability.

Seems fine on a tablet though, and if they can implement my tweaks I’ll be more than happy.

I have now seen mention on Twitter it can work on an iphone, so it should definitely be able to work on an android, I shall message them later.

You can also buy the ebook via Google Books (which I have just done) and it will work fine on PC, phone and/or tablet

Can anyone link to a picture showing any faults in the hard copies please?
I didn’t notice the colour problems but this certainly attracted my attention.

David
