Just returned from a trip to Aruba and managed to ID most of the birds I saw but I am struggling with the Terns. They have Royal Terns and I'm thinking the 1st is a Royal Tern and the 2nd looks like an Elegant Tern which are accidental for Aruba. Any help appreciated

Kevin

Just a thought - is the second not Cayenne Tern (Thalasseus acuflavidus eurygnathus), a ssp. of Cabot's Tern (T.acuflavides)?

Thanks wheatearlp, I'd not considered that and I think you're right. My initial thought was to ignore Sandwich Tern as they have black bills, but obviously I'm wrong.
