Is there a device which pinpoints source of a sound? (1 Viewer)

I again spent long time frustrated, trying to spot small birds calling hidden in the foliage and owls and nightjars calling in the blackness of a
night.

I think there must be a device to pinpoint the source of a sound accurately. Anybody, especially tech savvy, knows something about it? If it is used for birding, and e.g. tied together with an average laser pointer used in birding, this would be a game changer.

You could try this!

But seriously! A quick search brings up lots of home build projects using microphone arrays but no actual off the shelf products. There are couple of fixed installation products aimed at the noise monitoring market, aimed at worksites but nothing portable.
