Taken from my window today. The bird was being harassed by Carrion Crows: I don't recall seeing a large gull getting this treatment before. It settled on a neighbour's roof and the crows lost interest.
I'm not much cop at "immature gulls" but take this to be a first winter bird. I didn't really get beyond looking at the tertials: they don't seem to quite fit field guide illustrations of either Herring Gull L.a.argenteus (the most abundant gull species here) or Lesser Black-backed Gull.
Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers
