Hi, I saw this bird the other day in the wood near my garden and ID'd it as a dunnock. However, I have never seen one with an eye-stripe and distinctive as this, and it was sitting high in a tree singing (which seems like unusual behavior for a dunnock). Any confirmation of its identity appreciated.1.PNG2.PNG

Welcome to Birdforum! I am sure that you will find lots to interest you here and I hope you enjoy your visits.

It does look like a dunnock.

I didn’t realise this was particularly unusual behaviour for Dunnock. Saw this guy the other day singing his heart out from the top of a tree and the Collins guide pictures one singing from the top of a ‘young spruce’.

Maybe my mistake - they have always seemed to hop around on the floor or hide i bushes around me. This is the first time I've seen one out in the open.

Or maybe my mistake or limited experience of all the behaviours! But that’s why I’m here to learn from these threads so thanks for sharing
