Great, just one week to wait for the return of the heroes.

Great news! all we hope is that each and every osprey beginning its journey home to each of the reserves will travel safely.

How exciting to follow all of their flight paths. Beatrice seems happy in the marsh area in SW France before continuing her journey to N Scotland, the others to their relative nesting sites.

Bassenthwaite have put up a new platform and the Whinlatter Visitor Centre has had some refurbishments too. It is a superb centre and the volunteers are so enthusiastic, as indeed they are everywhere we visit!

Last year was quite calm (except there were no chicks)
