Manky mallard or leucism? (1 Viewer)

Curious if the the duck on the right is manky like the one on the left, or if it has leucism. Thanks!

Thanks! Is there another term besides "manky" for hybrid domestic / wild mallards? This was the one taught to me by other local birders.
Domestic or wild Mallards are the same species, Anas platyrhynchos. There's therefore no "hybrid" between the two. Your bird is a Mallard.

This being said, if they are taken in nature, domestic phenotypes are best called "ferals" ; same for Rock Dove / Pigeon, Greylag / domestic Goose, etc.

If your birds are free, you can called them Mallards or feral Mallards.
