Might be of interest?, “partial leucistic” Redwing N.East London. (1 Viewer)

Amidst a feeding frenzy of Redwings on my Ivy hedge yesterday, I encountered this individual with an “almost” complete white tail band (top side) and showing white under tail coverts to the lower belly at least.
I looked on the web for examples of leucism with this species and couldn’t find any, unfortunately I was unable to image the bird in flight which showed a bright contrasting white tail band “excepting” the central rectrices which were of the regular brown tone.

Cheers

Probably no more unusual than leucism in any other passerine species I would imagine. This striking bird was amongst a large flock at Spurn in autumn 2019.
