Made a trip here with a group organised by Gunnar Engblom and Pete Simpson prior to the Asian Birdfair in Manila in Nov 2024, it was a fun if chaotic trip, with good views of Philippine Eagle the big success above Del Monte Lodge on the second day. Report attached below

Thanks for sharing Phil - a very successful trip (logistics aside!) with some incredible species. The Azure-breasted pitta is particularly gripping!
Do you know when the Philippine eagle pair last bred - I imagine it is every 2-3 years like Harpy?

I believe it was last year, and yes they are every second year. Luis on the trip has a Lodge in Colombia with nesting Harpy Eagle, it sounds terrific. We were lucky to get an eagle relatively close, often it's distant scope view or distant photo that identifies it, and I liked the lodge there, it was fine camping under a big shelter and they looked after us very well. Not nearly as strenuous as I feared eiither, just take it steady and try not to slip.
