Due to needing medical care, I have moved to the city. I live in an apartment without a balcony. I have put a bird feeder outside my window . For weeks upon weeks, there are NO visitors to my feeder here in the middle of the city. How can I intice a visitor or two?

Could it possibly be too close to the window?

Hi there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum (y)
We're glad you found us and please join in wherever you like. ;)

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group. Sorry I can’t help with your problem.

Hi Dianestar and a warm welcome from me too.

Be patient... it took several months for birds to find my feeder when I first moved to my flat 25 years ago. Now I've lots visiting, still waiting for a few more species to find it though (had two new visitors this year!)

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Welcome to Birdforum. I hope you enjoy your visits. It can take a long time for birds to discover a new feeder. Good luck!

It may help if you put up some type of a roost, away from the feeder, for the birds to land on, sit, and eyeball the feeder so they can feel safe prior to feeding. It can be something simple like a twig or dowel or anything else that will help them feel safe with their surroundings.

If you don't have space for anything to the left or right of the feeder, maybe you can create something above the feeder to draw them in.

I wish you luck and Welcome to BF.
