Have discussed this with colleagues, at the moment just two candidates in the frame, namely Twin-spotted Wainscott and or Brown-veined Wainscot…any advances?
Habitat London Clay, nearest Reed clump perhaps 1/2 mile.

I didn’t consider this for size and scarcity reasons, however none of the contenders would appear to fit the habitat, but clearly it’s a Wainscot that hasn’t been told yet.👍

Fwiw, Yellow Iris dominates my 6x3’ pond. 😮

Webb's status has been changed from Nb to common, the book is out of date. They are spreading Northwards and inland. I got my first on Monday morning. I've only a small garden pond surrounded by arable fields.
