New Pentax VD Series Binocular/monocular (2 Viewers)

May I ask you something about the bridge construction? I have a sample here and when I set it to my IPD, the bridge is a bit wobbly and it goes out of collimation and then back to good collimation when the IPD is set. If I force the barrels a little when I am looking through it, I can literally warp the image. Is that the same with yours?
Hi I just tested my sample...

Collimation seems stable, and unaffected with a little pressure. (I didn't force it too much, for fear of damage)

Did you buy your sample on the used market?

I watched a video review that made me cringe... The reviewer didn't follow Pentax's instructions, and tried to seperate each monocular in a way that probably damaged the bridge.

Hopefully you can sort this out... These are really enjoyable binoculars.

I bought it new. But I am going to return it. Not so much because of the bridge but because I had to refocus more often than I thought would be necessary considering the great DOF. I also think that the 4 power magnification is not for me really. I like the stable view and I largely agree with most that people say about the optics but I think I am more of a 7x person. When I think of my Retrovid , I see more detail, a FOV that seems even larger and, indeed, a similarly stable view.

If the Pentax had a larger FOV or center focus, I would probably keep it. For hiking, the zoo or watching things on stage perhaps.
