Hello,

I came by this site trying to work out whether what I was seeing in my local park were song thrushes or mistle thrushes :eek!: I'm still not sure....|:S|

Yes! I'm very new to taking an interest in birds....I recently saw the most magnificent bird soaring over some fields....realised afterwards (checking books/internet) I had been watching a red kite...then the other day saw a cormorant flying over my local park...only knew that's what it was from travels to India where I found the birdlife enthralling - ended up buying a field guide while there because I just had to know what all those amazing birds were |:$|

I've still no idea what the cormorant was doing flying over a park in London but I'm hoping that if I hang out here long enough maybe I'll find out :t::t:

Hi Sam and a warm welcome to you on behalf of the Staff and Moderators.

You can read up more about the two thrushes HERE in Opus, and compare pictures by searching the Gallery from the links at the bottom of the article.

I hope you enjoy your time with us.
