Hello everyone! I’m new to this site. I live in central Florida on the west coast and lucky enough to be in a bird sanctuary. I just ordered a larger cedar bird house, four holes or maybe I should say doors. I would like to attach a weathervane on top because it would look so cool. Then I thought maybe the birds wouldn’t like it. What do you think? Thanks for any suggestions. 🐦

Hi Peatlady and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Welcome to Birdforum. I hope you enjoy your visits.

It would be best if you don’t attach a weathervane as the birds could well find it off putting.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group. And I think just the opposite of Kits. I think they might actually enjoy having the perch up top.

It was the movement of the weathervane with the wind which I thought might be off putting to birds nesting in the house.
