There were eight Spoonbills at Burnham Deepdale Marshes yesterday. The habitat's looking nice there and easily viewable with a scope from the seawall. Well worth checking out if you're passing. Last year's Terek may come back – who knows? Walk just under a mile northeast from Burnham Deepdale and view the fresh marshes to the south.

Lynford Hall development proposal

68 lodges have been proposed for development in the grounds of Lynford Hall.

Clearly this is an important area for a number of Schedule 1 breeding species and other scarce breeders / winter visitors.

My interpretation of the (primary) area likely to be affected is in the attached screengrab. Full details can be found here:

http://planning.breckland.gov.uk/OcellaWeb/planningDetails?reference=3PL/2016/0631/F

The rspb have already lodged an objection. Birders who enjoy this site and understand its significance for a number of species may wish to do the same.

Hi Maleobs,
Looks like a Fulmar.. Maybe albino/leucistic ?
The black bill and blac on head you describe is odd ?
The flight pattern you describe fits perfectly
Sacha

I did see a couple of Fulmar that afternoon. But this had a sturdy black bill, not the classic 'tube nose' of a Fulmar & was pure white no grey at all, it was more tern like in flight and wings slightly more pointed at the tips and when flying, more flappy .
