I am visiting the phillipines for the first time in april,i am flying into cebu and then travelling on to mindano and staying with a friend in valencia city. I hope to do some birdwatching and would be grateful for any information of good places to visit. Does anyone kow of any local bird guides that may be of help? thanks

Personally I think the best guide for the Philippines is Nicky.

I have gone with him on two trips. One to Mt. Kitanglad in Mindanao and the last one was to the Northern Sierra Madre Mountains.

He has a tour company. This is his website:

There are also local guides in some places. But Nicky is the best pro guide and an expert for all the islands.
