Hello all
New member
I've had the pleasure of observing a Peregrine Falcon multiple times beginning 19 August 2018.
I work as a security officer at a Power Plant on the Canal separating Cape Cod MA USA. from the mainland.
Our most prominent structures are a 150+ meter stack and multiple Cranes while a construction project continues.
The Canal provides a predatory bird with a wealth of prey birds including Rock Doves, Cormorants, multiple species of Gull. Both the East and West ends of the Canal are habitat for Waders, Waterfowl so the there is a bountiful feast for a young Peregrine.
Subsequent to my initial observation the bird returned multiple times all of which occurred early morning or late afternoon.
My most recent observation was Saturday 22 Aug.
I certainly can't call this bird a "resident" yet but I'll keep my eyes opened as the season wears on.
Another interesting bird a, Goshawk, flew onto an electrical cable 60 feet above my head on Saturday and later a first Red Tail observed at this location appeared as well.
