Older style ATX foot options. (1 Viewer)

Hello all.

I have an older style ATX scope with the non Arca Swiss foot.

What are my options to avoid rotation and securely mount it on a tripod head?

How are people dealing with the foot?

Once winter comes, I'll probably send off to Swarovski to have it replaced.

Thanks
Stew

I presume you have a tripod head with a quick-release capability.
If so, just fit a suitable QR plate with anti-rotation pin, preferably with a 3/8"x16 screw and junk the 3/8" to 1/4" adapter.
If your tripod head has no QR capability and you have attached the scope to the head via the screw then you could attach a QR coupling to your present head.
Many scopes don't have the foot directly under the centre of gravity so a QR plate of suitable length, which allows you to attain good horizontal balance is a better solution than direct fitting IMO.
