Osprey Shot (2 Viewers)

Not sure whether this is the right discussion thread to post this but I will fire away anyways. So there was an Osprey found lying in an industrial estate in Washington in the NE of England with horrendous injuries which included, a fractured eye socket , broken wing , some other injuries, and 3 airgun pelletts found in its body. Some low life scumbags somewhere along the line decided to inflict these injuries deliberately. What's very confusing is that there was no information given out as to whether the bird was ringed or not , this information would clearly state where the bird originated from, and where it might have been when It was shot. Nearly all Ospreys are ringed , and in most cases return to the same place, as there are no Ospreys nesting anywhere near where this bird was found, other than Kielder which is 60 miles away, surely by passing on more information to the public, IE whether it was even ringed or not, would help with the enquiry, I'm not convinced that it's possible to hit any bird with 3 shots from an airifle, especially an Osprey, as it would have took off after the first shot.Just wondering if it was it from a shotgun rather than an airifle, something doesn't add up
