Car in the garage, so a local walk around Hurstpierpoint, pretty quiet really, though winkled out a few nice bits, mainly Yellowhammers which seem to be hanging on around here, couple of Linnets, a Red Kite and a Sparrowhawk the best of the rest!! Lot more pics on the Blog at the link.

Another long walk, from the house today, bit of a later start and a nippy breeze seemed to bring out the Raptors several Sprawks seen, Buzzards, Kestrels and a couple of Ravens. Nice views of a Stock Dove as well, which is a bonus as they are usually very flighty!! More pics on the Blog at the link!

For various reasons not been out locally for a while, had a couple of hours up on Wolstonbury Hill today, very windy, which made birding difficult. Plenty of Skylarks still singing and Meadow Pipits still displaying, couple of Yellowhammers the other highlight. Lots of Orchids, among the many many flowers, even in the wind it's a beautiful place at this time of year! More pics on the blog at the link below!

A walk around Hurstpierpoint this morning was fairly average, Yellowhammer and Bullfinch the best of it, most action is in the garden at the moment with lots of youngsters and a Sparrowhawk hunting them, the Swifts are are still sniffing around the box, but no takers as yet!

A sad day on the Patch when a favourite area for the Yellowhammer has been grubbed out, I don't know why, but has been done at some point between the 1st of April and today, the dry pile of what's left suggests it was done a couple of months ago which would be in the middle of the breeding season, which is bloody annoying! On the plus side I did find a Spotted Flycatcher which always cheers me up!

Didn't have the Camera for todays walk, due to slamming the harness in the car door and breaking the buckle and with my dodgy shoulders no way am I going with a shoulder strap! Spare bit ordered off Amazon, be here tomorrow so fingers crossed will be back up and running by next week. Today was fairly quiet with a pair of Stonechats probably the best of it!
