Hello all.
As you may have heard, Greece was literly burnt to the ground this year. Unfortunately Greek 'hunters' have no common sense and haven't cancelled the hunting season until the devasted ecosystem recovers.
Worst still National Parks (even in Olympia) have been swamped by hunters searching for prey.

- "ΤΑ ΖΩΑ ΜΕΤΑ ΤΙΣ ΠΥΡΚΑΓΙΕΣ " The loss of habitat and the general enviromental disaster.
- "ΚΥΝΗΓΙ" The impact of hunting and what hunting really is:
("Σημειωτέον ότι το κυνήγι είναι μία δραστηριότητα που δε συνδέεται, τουλάχιστον στις ανεπτυγμένες χώρες, με τις άμεσες βιοτικές ανάγκες του ανθρώπου και φυσικά δεν είναι άθλημα, γιατί η έννοια του αθλήματος προϋποθέτει συμμετοχή και των δύο μελών."
"It should be noted that hunting is an activty that, at least in developed countries, is not related to imediate biological needs and naturarly it can't be considered a sport, because the meaning of sport requires the participation of both members")
- "Η ΚΥΝΗΓΕΤΙΚΗ ΠΕΡΙΟΔΟΣ " When the hunting period should start
-" ΕΑΡΙΝΗ ΜΕΤΑΝΑΣΤΕΥΣΗ " "Spring migration"
- "ΠΕΡΙΟΔΟΣ ΑΝΑΠΑΡΑΓΩΓΗΣ " Breeding Season"
- "ΘΟΡΥΒΟΣ " "Noise" and other disturbances, polution (in the form of lead and plastic) caused by hunting. etc
Demands
For a period of 5 years:

ΝΑ ΣΤΑΜΑΤΗΣΕΙ ΤΟ ΚΥΝΗΓΙ ΓΙΑ 5 ΧΡΟΝΙΑ, για την ανακούφιση της φύσης")
- Strict prrotection of all nature reserves, national parks. Additionaly some should be increased in size and numerous new ones created.
- A new and modern set of laws regarding hunting, that accepts the ecological side of the problem, that enforces/ensures evrybodys right to enjoy nature and that increases penalties regarding the illegal hunting of protected species.
- The creation of a new body for the prosecution of poaching, for all days of the week, independent of hunting organisations, hunters and the forest ministry.
After a period of 5 years:
- The introduction of hunting laws that prohibit hunters living in cities to travel long distances to exterminate en mass birds and animals. Local permits should be given after rigorous examination.
(In case you didn't know hunting away from the city centers is much more lenient than in areas found near cities. Hunters exploit this)
- Hunting should be limited to specific areas
- Strict prohibition of ALL hunting activities between the 1st of Ferbuary until the 15th of October and in times of severe natural disasters (severe winters, extensive fires etc).
