Petition to stop Hunting in Greece for 5 years and pose limitation thereafter! (1 Viewer)

Thanks Folks,

I am sure Dimitris will post himself when he has time, it is good to know people are still signing the petition, we want to see some action, it has not been forgotten about. Birders are a caring lot.

I hope Dimitris can give us an update soon.

Hello all,

Thank you all for your time and effort. Haven't had much of a chance to follow this issue much, but I can tell you that in general nothing much changed... :( . The ban was lifted after a week and hunting went on as normal in unafected areas (burnt areas were largely left alone, primarily because there was nothing left to hunt, plus of the bans etc).

For now the hunting season has ended ('bout a month ago, spring hunting is illegal in Greece, not that this will prevent those who want too) and hunters are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the next season...much to the dismay of local enviro groups. There are some rumous that they will push for more species to be allowed, but I find this unlikely to succeed.

Best wishes to all!

Dimitris
