Pipit, Cape Clear Island, Ireland (1 Viewer)

This bird confuses me - it does not resemble any of the hundreds of Meadow Pipits I saw in Ireland, but I can't quite match it up with any of the other options. May 2024Pipit crop.JPG

Meadow pipit. The very clean flanks, black, discreet chest streaks, and strong supercilium rule out rock pipit. Meadow pipits are extremely variable.
Thanks - I thought that was the only thing it could be, but the prominent white supercilium, pale cheek, and almost black-and-white appearance threw me off. We saw Meadow Pipit everywhere of course, and they all looked brown, relatively drab, and lacked that striking facial pattern.
